Football Elimination Game
This is a tremendously entertaining game that can be started anytime before the season’s halfway mark. The pool does not have to start with the first week of the season. Players select two teams each week to win their games. Any selection that doesn’t win earns a “strike.” Earning three strikes knocks a player out of the pool. The game appeals to many casual football fans since it does not require a comprehensive understanding of the game of football. In fact, many a football “expert” has been among the first to be eliminated! Essentially, a general familiarity with how the teams are performing during the season is all a player needs to succeed in the game. The pool appears deceptively easy, but winning does require a little luck and the ability to predict a few upsets. This game is an outstanding conversation starter as players eagerly discuss each week’s action.
